We're doing a lot of rhythm parts that are going in a jazz /funk /R&B setting. Mainly, I don't understand how to build these small chords used in this style. USAA: Gaining well-rounded knowledge for implied chords requires a theoretical approach. In this video, I'll run through chord examples that break-down the larger chord patterns used in a majority of the Top-40 music, including; Pop-rock, Country, R&B and Funk to name a few. I will examine how these chord shapes can be broken down into smaller versions, that not only punch through the mix, better, but that won't drown out the other instruments in the band. Plus, throughout all of the various lesson examples, we'll have a chance to practice all kinds of different rhythmic grooves as well.
