Tamara Raven (Voronova) was born in Sukhumi, a small resort town on the Black Sea coast. Tamara’s father was an archeologist and her mother is a music teacher. Tamara started her performing career at a very early age. At first, she would sing Russian romances, such as "Weeping Willows Are Slumbering", to her parents and their friends.
Later she would start performing professionally on the stage of the AbkhazianState Philarnomic. At the age of seven Tamara begins to perform as a singer with the Children’s Choir and as a solo violinist in various venues.
In 1992 a war breaks out between Georgia and Abkhazia and Tamara moves to Moscow. In Moscow Tamara first enrolls in the Merzliakov School affiliated with the Moscow State Music Convervatory and later in the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts (GITIS). While at GITIS, Tamara stars in mono-opera "Letter from unknown woman" composed by Antonio Spadavecchia and based on the novel by Stefan Zweig. The production, directed by Ilia Tikhanovich and Tarama’s performance were lauded as a big success.
In 1995 Tamara goes to Saratov to compete in the "UTA" stage competition. Shortly before leaving for Saratov, Tamara is introduced to a well-known film director Kostantin Khudiakov. While coaching Tamara before the competition, he suggests she should try singing jazz. He also gives Tamara several jazz recordings, including recordings by such great jazz artists as Ella Fitzgerald, Doris Day and Ernestine Anderson.
1995 marks the beginning of Tamara’s jazz career. Tamara give solo concerts in Sukhumi and Pitsunda and performs in various jazz clubs in Moscow.
In 2003 Tamara leaves Russia for Warsaw, Poland. Very quickly she find musicians and starts performing in Warsaw jazz clubs and collaborating in various stage projects.
Tamara Raven mostly clubs performs in Warsaw clubs with pianist Piotr Karol Sawicki singing the "evergreen jazz standarts".
Also she is collaborating with "Jazz In Progress" project with Piotr Karol Sawicki (piano), Kostek Donskoy (trumpet) and Dj Echoplex who is responsible for drum-loops and atmosphere.
In 2005 Tamara Raven had recorded vocal for the moscow electronic band's "Norma" album.
