Buffy The Vampire Slayer: The Album专辑介绍

This CD was released around the midpoint of the run of the series of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, so it primarily is from the high-school years of the show. It is not just a soundtrack of the music from Buffy, it is a very good mix of music from the last half of the 1990's. Although I consider myself a die-hard fan to the point that I can pretty much rattle off the names of the episodes in order and tell you what each was about, I did not recognize many of the songs on this CD as far as being able to link a particular scene or episode with a song.

There are, of course, a few exceptions, the most obvious being the show's theme by Nerfherder and "Close Your Eyes", which is the Buffy/Angel love theme. The latter has always been one of my favorites, as I can almost feel what Buffy is going through when she realizes she must kill her dearest love in order to save the world at the conclusion of "Becoming Part 2". Another song that brings back memories of Buffy and Angel's tortured romance is "Wild Horses", which is playing as the two dance together at the prom, both knowing that Angel is leaving town soon and this is their last chance to have any kind of normal moment together. "Lucky" recalls the episode "The Harsh Light of Day" when Buffy allows herself to be seduced by aspiring Lothario and fellow college student Parker Abrams. I've always been intrigued by "Transylvania Concubine", which is the quirky and memorable tune playing during Drusilla's "coming out" party in the episode "Surprise".

The remainder of the songs did not really provide any emotional cues for me as did these five that I have mentioned, but they are still a good collection of lively music from the 90's that I consider to be a worthy purchase.
