It could very well be that you’ve had both your retinas and frontal lobes permanently scorched by Karen O and her art-noise-pop-assault known as the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. But there’s no such danger present here as the YYYs do their dirty work in a much “safer” acoustic setting. Touching on the major tunes from Show Your Bones, the band ends up showing that the songs underneath the bluster are watertight. A touching cover of Sonic Youth’s later masterstroke “Diamond Sea” adds a nice layer of respect for their elders.
