Warner Music Canada recording artists Billy Talent have announced the release of a greatest hits album, HITS. The 14 song collection will include all the band’s biggest hits along with two new songs, and will be available for pre-order on September 25th. Fans who pre-order HITS will be rewarded with an instant download of the new studio track, “Kingdom of Zod.” HITS will be available everywhere music is sold on November 4th.
“It’s amazing. A dream come true,” says Ben Kowalewicz of the greatest hits album. “All the songs we have on the record are songs that have changed us, and sculpted us as the band we are. We are very proud of it.”
On Thursday, the band launched an interactive video vault on BillyTalent.com which will unveil the track list of the album. Visitors to BillyTalent.com will be treated to exclusive video of the band offering commentary for each song on HITS. This exclusive footage was shot at the band’s studio in Toronto, and offers unique insight into each of these iconic songs. In addition to this inside look at the band’s greatest hits, on September 25th the band will premiere “Kingdom of Zod” on their website, and will continue to roll out exclusive content leading up to the album release on November 4th.
In addition to the standard CD edition of HITS, the band will also be releasing a deluxe edition which will include the greatest hits CD as well as never before seen live performance video shot at Metropolis in Montreal and Sound Academy in Toronto as part of the limited run of Billy Talent 10th Anniversary tour. There will also be a limited edition super deluxe package that will include the greatest hits CD, the live DVD footage as well as a Prima Pak book which adds 35 pages of images hand-picked by the band from their expansive collection which chronicles the band’s 11 year career.
