Chris urged Larry to really push the limits and he certainly did - the initial design drawings represented such a detailed and vast project that Chris felt it necessary to reign in Larry’s creativity and subsequently his price.Larry suggested that the inlay motif reflect the origins of the instrument in the Middle East, and evoke the aura of seventeenth century instruments that were built for members of royal families
