Ltd. Ed. Wildkat Red Royale

The new Epiphone Ltd. Ed. 2014 Red Royale Collection features three of Epiphone's most popular classics in a beautiful Red Pearl color finish. The striking Red Pearl finish is reminiscent of the first wave of custom colors made by Epiphone in the 1960s and has a warm, deep, scarlet tone that’s set off by Epiphone’s distinctive Royale Collection Silver Sparkle binding. Each Red Royale Collection instrument features all of the modern, top-shelf pickups and hardware you’ve come to expect from Epiphone, and of course, a lifetime guarantee. In other words, the Royale Treatment! And now Epiphone’s modern classic Wildkat archtop gets the Royale treatment. The Epiphone Wildkat is a true original, the first new archtop design of the modern era and a certified classic. Now for a limited time, go Wild again with the Epiphone Ltd. Ed. Wildkat Red Royale. Epiphone has been a leader in archtop design since the 1930s and was one the first guitar manufactures to recognize that archtop fans needed pickups in their guitars to be heard on bigger stages and in raucous honky tonks. Throughout the 50s and 60s, Epiphone refined the archtop further with classics like the Riviera, the Sheraton, and the Casino. The Ltd. Ed. Wildkat Red Royale’s innovative design has the same classic profile of those vintage Epiphone archtops but made smaller for easier travel. The Wildkat Red Royale features a solid Mahogany body and the Royale Collection’s distinctive Silver Sparkle binding on the body and neck. The Wildkat’s body is computer-routed to create a perfectly tuned acoustic guitar-like body but with a “center block” just like Sheraton II or ES-335. The combination gives the Wildkat that round “archtop” tone with the incredible sustain of a solid body guitar. The Wildkat’s top is made from laminated Flame Maple with a stunning Red Pearl “Royale” finish for a semi-hollow body masterpiece you can only get from Epiphone. The Epiphone Ltd. Ed. Wildkat Red Royale in Red Pearl finish is backed by Epiphone’s Limited Lifetime Warranty, which also features Gibson 24/7/365 Customer Service and guarantees the instrument against defects in materials or workmanship. "The Log" was made from Epiphone parts with a 4" x 4" piece of Pinewood down the middle. The ES-series is also semi-hollow with a solid center, which makes it more resistant to feedback than a typical archtop guitar. B. B. King Lucille

When B.B. King made his first recordings for Sam Phillips’ Memphis Recording Services, King was initially known as a talented vocalist and in fact didn’t always play lead guitar on his early records. But that would all change by the mid ‘50s as King and his guitar, nicknamed Lucille, became the voice of the blues. With hits like “Rock Me Baby,” “Sweet Little Angel,” “Sweet Sixteen,” and “The Thrill Is Gone,” King put the blues on the Top 40 charts, made himself and Lucille household names, became the first blues artist signed to a major label, and with his singular vocal and guitar style, was an inspiration to a mighty generation of blues and rock artists including Otis Rush, Albert King, Buddy Guy, Michael Bloomfield, Duane Allman, and Magic Sam. King’s singular tone has everything you’d want to hear in electric blues guitar—a bell-like ring with a hint of overdrive, soaring highs and gritty lows, and all driven home by King’s mighty left hand tremolo. The Epiphone B. B. King Lucille was designed by B. B. King himself and puts all the tone and nuance of King’s own favorite guitar in your hands. As with all Epiphones, Lucille comes with our Limited Lifetime Guarantee and 24/7/365 Gibson Customer Service. Get the thrill and play the Epiphone B.B.King Lucille today at your Authorized Epiphone Dealer.

Broadway

For over 80 years, Epiphone archtops have been the first-call for musicians looking for timeless sound and classic style in one guitar. During swing's golden age in the 1930s, New York City was the music capitol of the world and the capitol of the archtop guitar world, too. Artisan luthiers and old world craftsmen were plentiful and many instruments from that era are now serious collector's items, including classic Epiphone designs like the Emperor Regent, De Luxe, and Olympia. But while most New York City archtop builders retired from the business or ran for cover when rock and roll hit, Epiphone never stopped refining the classic designs that made Epi Stathopoulo the king of archtop manufacturers. Epi was determined to make distinguished and great sounding archtops with quality materials that were affordable to working musicians. He insisted that a great guitar belonged on stage, not on a wall in a glass case. So, Epi’s Epiphone showroom on West 14th Street in Lower Manhattan put the leading guitarists of the day like Les Paul and George Van Eps in the shop window to show the world that an Epiphone was an affordable work of art. Epiphone's timeless Broadway guitar was one of those classics and inspired the dreams of many guitarists. Originally introduced in 1931, this beautiful instrument still sets the standard for jumbo jazz boxes and is also one of the largest, measuring 17" across the lower bout for unmatched full-range, big jazz tone. Like its famous sister the Epiphone Emperor Regent, this guitar is a direct descendant from Epiphone’s early archtop days and the "war" between then-fierce-rival Gibson and the Stathopoulo brothers. Today, the Broadway remains the guitar of choice for many acclaimed jazz pros including the award-winning Nick Colionne. The Epiphone Broadway is backed by our famous Epiphone Lifetime Limited Warranty featuring Gibson 24/7/365 Customer Service whic guarantees the instrument against defects in materials or workmanship. ES-175 Premium

Epiphone is proud to present the Epiphone ES-175 Premium, a faithful new reissue of what many consider the most famous electric archtop in popular music, heard on classics from jazz to rock in the hands of pioneers like Joe Pass, Scotty Moore, and Wes Montgomery. Epiphone’s long history of innovation began with designing archtop guitars. And now, Epiphone steps up its game again with the new ES-175 Premium featuring Gibson USA '57 Classic pickups and a vintage-inspired "aged" Lacquer finish that will make you think you're playing a 50's original but at a price anyone can afford. The Roots of A Legend The ES-175 was introduced in 1949 as a mid-size, more affordable version of the venerable L-5, the very first modern archtop and the inspiration for the best Gibson and Epiphone archtops of the jazz era. The original ES-175 was truly a modern guitar that anticipated a new era of jazz and pop music that was hotter, louder, and constantly stretching musical boundaries. The ES-175 was the first archtop with a Florentine (sharp) cutaway. And by 1957, it came with the innovative and now standard humbucker pickup. The ES-175 quickly the preferred model for both jazz players and rock and rollers with a background in jazz, especially for guitarists looking for the “Wes Montgomery” L-5 sound at a lower cost. The new Epiphone ES-175 Premium is just like the original--a fully hollow jazz box that’s easy to hold, easy to play and affordable. And with the addition of Gibson ’57 Classic pickups, the Epiphone ES-175 Premium is versatile enough for any genre with cool crisp archtop tone from its all-maple construction and killer humbucker pickups. One thing you can’t get with a vintage instrument is Epiphone’s Limited Lifetime Warranty and Gibson 24/7/365 Customer Service. The Epiphone ES-175 Premium is more than just a time travel guitar. It could also be the only guitar you ever need to own. But maybe you should get two, just in case. Visit your favorite Authorized Epiphone Dealer and make your own history with the ES-175 Premium today.

Epiphone - Archtop Pioneers For over 140 years, Epiphone has made its reputation producing some of the greatest and most innovative musical instruments in popular music. While models such as the Broadway, Wilshire, Coronet, Emperor and Texan are some of Epiphone's most memorable models, the Casino is arguably our most famous due to its close association with The Beatles. The new Ltd. Ed. Elitist “1965” Casino Vintage Outfit is the ultimate Casino featuring the classic look, sound, and features of an off-the-shelf 1965 Casino, the exact same Casino that propelled hits by The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Kinks, Paul Weller, Noel Gallagher of Oasis, and modern artists as diverse as Gary Clark, Jr. and Radiohead. The Casino Story For the Epiphone Company of 1961, the premier of the Casino was a small breakthrough. After the merger with Gibson in 1957, Epiphone had begun to move away from making traditional hollowbody jazz archtops. A new era of music had arrived and the introduction of the Casino was a modern design that announced that Epiphone was ready to begin a new chapter in its long and unique history. Though from a distance the Casino had the look of an ES-335, the Casino was a true hollowbody that gave players a clear, ringing tone that could be pushed into overdrive when needed. The Casino was an ideal guitar for stage and studio work and can be heard on many landmark recordings including The Beatles’ “Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band,” the Kinks’ “All Day and All of the Night,” and The Beach Boys’ landmark album “Pet Sounds.” Maybe it’s purely coincidental that at the same time the Casino was in its planning stages at Epiphone headquarters in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the Beatles were starting out, too. By 1965, the Beatles were the toast of London and when Paul McCartney went shopping for a new guitar that could give him the overdriven blues sound of artists like Otis Rush, he reached for a Casino. John Lennon and George Harrison soon bought Casinos as well and used them on stage and in the studio at Abbey Road throughout the rest of the band’s career. Carl Wilson of the Beach Boys, Paul Weller of the Jam, and Noel Gallagher of Oasis are just a few of the players who made great records with Casinos. And now with the Ltd. Ed. Elitist “1965” Casino Vintage Outfit, you can, too! As with every Epiphone, the Ltd. Ed. EB-0

It seems incredible in hindsight but in the early 1960s, the Kalamazoo factory, home to both Epiphone and Gibson instruments, ceased production of the Les Paul guitar and in its place, created the "SG" design. And as it so often does, changes in guitar design also influenced bass design, too. With the Les Paul (temporarily) out of the picture, the SG took over. And for a time during that golden era, the classic SG bass was the historic factory’s sole electric bass offering. But the EB-0 “SG” bass was by no means a cast-off. It quickly became one of the most attractive basses of the day and players like Bill Wyman of The Rolling Stones, Cream’s Jack Bruce and The Who’s John Entwistle made the "EB" style bass a hitmaker. Now, Epiphone presents the EB-0, a stunning recreation of the vintage marvel that has the tone and feel of the original without the vintage price tag and vintage problems. The Epiphone EB-0 comes with Epiphone’s Limited Lifetime Warranty and Gibson 24/7/365 customer service.
