The Epiphone EJ-200 brings back the historic acoustic guitar deservedly known as the “King of the Flat-tops,” the J-200. Originally introduced in 1937, the J-200 set a standard for guitar excellence that others have been trying to match ever since. Today—over 70 years later—the legacy of “King of the Flat-tops” lives on in our EJ 200. When the J-200 was first introduced, it immediately filled a need for a deeper, more balanced and powerful acoustic instrument that could project over stages and radio. The J-200 was a radical new guitar, bigger and bolder than any previous design, and gave artists in the new American music scene of the ‘30s an instrument capable of projecting well beyond that of any other acoustic on the market—a fact that still holds true today. Gene Autry and Roy Rogers frequently made the J-200 their guitar of choice for dozens of Westerns, making cowboys and their guitars forever linked. The J-200 has been the best friend of country and western music ever since. The J-200 is the acoustic guitar that every player wants whether on the open range or an open stage. The J-200 style is simply the world’s most famous acoustic guitar, known equally for its majestic look and focused, complex sound. Every great rhythm guitarist and singer of the last century made the J-200 their primary acoustic instrument on stage (and for record covers, too) including Don Everly, Bob Dylan, Robbie Robertson, Emmylou Harris, Elvis Presley, Gram Parsons, Buddy Holly, and Pete Townshend who used a J-200 style to compose the songs for The Who's Tommy. The EJ-200 gives you everything great from this iconic and historic guitar without the headaches or the pricetag of a vintage guitar. Like all Epiphone instruments, the EJ-200 is covered by our Limited Lifetime Warranty and the Gibson Family of Instrument’s 24/7/365 Customer Service. Pick up an EJ-200 today and become a believer in the King of the Flat Tops!

Later ‘60s models introduced the SG with humbucker pickups, and since then, the SG has become the go-to guitar for artists like The Who's Pete Townshend, Tony Iommi, Paul Weller, AC/DC's Angus Young, Eric Clapton and Derek Trucks of the Allman Brothers Band.

No single artist has inspired more players to discover the joys of a great acoustic/electric than John Lennon, who showed the world how to ‘plug in’ an acoustic guitar beginning with The Beatles' first television appearances in the UK in 1963. The rest of the world caught on when John appeared with his Kalamazoo factory-made J-160 "jumbo" in The Beatles' second film, Help! where it was featured in clips for “Help,” "You're Gonna Lose That Girl,” the film's Bahamas-set performance of "Another Girl," and in a memorable rendition of George Harrison's "I Need You," shot on England's Salisbury Plain. John also used his J-160 to compose and record “Give Peace A Chance” (with Tommy Smothers of the Smothers Brothers on rhythm!) at John and Yoko’s historic Bed-in for Peace in Montreal in 1969. Now, Epiphone is proud to offer a re-issue of John Lennon's favorite composing guitar with our Epiphone EJ-160E, with a portion of the proceeds of each guitar being donated to the BMI Foundation, Inc. for the John Lennon Scholarship Fund. As with all Epiphone instruments, Epiphone John Lennon EJ-160E comes with a Limited Lifetime Warranty and is backed by world famous 24/7/365 Gibson Customer Service. The Firebird was the first guitar made at the the legendary Kalamazoo factory to use neck-through construction and was part of a series of unique instruments drawn up by car designer Ray Dietrich. Ray was commissioned by Gibson’s Ted McCarty to create new and radical designs for Kalamazoo-made electric guitars. Dietrich's designs included the Flying V and the Explorer. Many in the industry were skeptical when these futuristic looking instruments were first released. The angular Firebird didn’t look like any guitar on the market when it was debuted in 1963. But now, the Firebird has become a staple axe of rock and roll guitarists and a wide range of artists including Keith Richards and Brian Jones of The Rolling Stones, Stephen Stills, and Tom Petty have made the Firebird a hit maker. Now, Epiphone has brought back the once limited edition legend with the stunning, no-frills Worn Firebird Studio with a worn Cherry color finish. The Firebird Studio features our Limited Lifetime Warranty backed by world famous 24/7/365 Gibson Customer Service. In 1957, Gibson purchased the Epiphone Guitar Company and moved all Epi instrument production to Kalamazoo, Michigan. A new line of "Kalamazoo-made and designed" Epiphones began hitting stores in 1959 and for the next decade, Epiphones were produced right alongside Gibsons. These Epiphone guitars represented some of the highest quality and best sounding instruments of their generation offering players unique shapes, pickup arrangements, and tonal signatures not found on '60s Gibson models. Though many of the early Epiphone instruments made in Kalamazoo were under-appreciated at the time of their release, numerous artists through the years recognized the unique appeal of these guitars including Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Winter, Kurt Cobain, and Steve Marriot. One of the best Epiphone guitars from the early Kalamazoo days was the Wilshire. As with all Epiphones, the Wilshire is backed by Epiphone's Limited Lifetime Warranty and 24/7/365 Customer Service. Only 398 original 1966 Wilshires were produced and are selling today for $10,000 or more. If you're not fortunate enough to own an original or can't afford that kind of cash, here's your chance to own one with the same classic 1966 Epiphone vibe and tone.
The Epiphone Les Paul Standard Royale delivers the signature sound of what many consider to be the ultimate solid body guitar. The original Les Paul Standard was the brainchild of famed '50’s guitar innovator and Vice President of Gibson and Epiphone, Ted McCarty. First issued in 1957, the Les Paul Standard was the next step in the ever-evolving design of the original “Les Paul” guitar which McCarty and Les Paul first designed in 1952. The “Les Paul” guitar immediately became a sensation thanks to Les Paul’s tv show and dozens of hit records with wife Mary Ford. Rockers like Carl Perkins and Chuck Berry and electric blues pioneers Muddy Waters and Freddy King reached for “Les Pauls” early in their career. However, McCarty and Paul knew that the “Les Paul” design, as great as it was, was only the beginning in their quest to make a guitar that could, in Les Paul’s words, “sustain for days.” Then in 1957, with the help of Seth Lover's humbucker pickup, the Les Paul Standard brought that dream into reality. Not only did humbuckers give the Les Paul Standard incredible sustain (and buck the hum!) but it also gave players unheard tones with complex overdrive sounds. The Les Paul Standard quickly became a favorite of blues, rock, and country players and would eventually become the standard must-have guitar for everyone from Jeff Beck to Jimmy Page to Zakk Wylde. And now Epiphone’s Les Paul Standard Royale makes this must-have guitar affordable with all the original trademarks plus a must-see Pearl White finish with gold sparkle binding. The Les Paul Standard Royale is protected by the famous Epiphone Lifetime Limited Warranty featuring Gibson 24/7/365 Customer Service and guarantees the instrument against defects in materials or workmanship.
