The Zombi originally started out as Zombi, which was formed by the guitarist, Kuolio (Paavo Härkönen) and vocalist Kallo (Ville Vuorinen).
All of the original drum tracks were programmed with DFH.
Later the band added 'the' to the name for they were threatened by a lawsuit from Relapse Records, because Relapse already had a band named Zombi.
The band used to wear masks during their promotional shoots but they got tired of endless comparisons to Slipknot and Lordi.
The first line-up also used nicknames Kallo (Ville Vuorinen), Kuolio (Paavo Härkönen), Raato (Ossi Niemimäki), Rutto (Aki Kuusinen) and Surma however after they stopped using masks they also quit using nicknames.
The Zombi was featured Heavy Karaoke: Basement Tapes Vol 1 DVD with the song "In the Cellar".
