Alvin Zealot is Benjamin (voice, guitar), Kim (drums), Jeremy (guitar) and Nick (bass).
Alvin Zealot, starting out in juvenile friendship with a downright joy to play music in 2008, kneeled zealot-like and with a lot of verve into their sonic adventure. The highest pretension was constantly declared by the band itself. That’s why the sky was full of stars when their debut ‘Tears of St. Lawrence’ catapulted the band into orbit.
What started as an adventure soon became routine and led the musicians into an artistic blinded alley. To play only for the fun of it was no longer enough to gratify themselves, and the search for meaning swung like Damocles’ sword over their stages. The recklessness draw aside a self-inflicted pressure and in their practising room, the refuge of their creativity, dominated silence.
Not till several planned release dates elapsed for the follower-album and not till only the band ran the risk of choking down in doubts, the band finally found together in spring 2012. Instead of failing the challenge, the quartet withdrew from any expectations and focused on the basics. Alvin Zealot rehearsed them into a truly flush and wrote about thirty songs, produced fifteen of it and accorded the strongest ten songs access to the album. Now then ‘Flux’ was finished.
