SuperCoolNothing, v2.0

With its gut-wrenching lyrics, incessant percussion, and grinding guitars, it's unfortunate that Super Cool Nothing remains one of the more largely unnoticed industrial releases of the late '90s. While 16 Volt toured with Orgy, the Flys, and Third Eye Blind to support the album, Seagram bought Mercury Records and decided to shelve the promotional efforts for many of its developing acts, including 16 Volt. Although the sudden lack of financial and promotional backing initially left the group out in the cold, they were determined to keep their career going and released Super Cool Nothing v2.0 in the summer of 2002. The Dark City Music set, only available through the band's website and at its concerts, includes new artwork, slicker packaging, and a second disc containing two previously unreleased demo songs and remixes by members of Filter, Orgy, and Crazy Town. [Super Cool Nothing was also re-released as a numbered, limited 1000-run edition at the same time as v2.0, but did not include the additional rarities disc.]
