Antemasque专辑介绍
After a public falling out over the lack of touring behind Noctourniquet, The Mars Volta’s Omar Rodríguez-López and Cedric Bixler-Zavala reunited earlier this year to form Antemasque. Together with Volta drummer David Elitch – and some help from Red Hot Chili Pepper’s Flea – they put together a self-titled debut album.
Originally, the band only planned on releasing the Flea-featuring “4AM”, but after the largely positive response, they went ahead and prepped a full LP. “If the whole thing looked unplanned, that’s because it was,” the band said in a statement. “The anticipation of what the reaction from fans and critics would be was very real for us with every new song we put out.”
Bixler-Zavala was quoted as saying, “The Mars Volta and At the Drive-In had a baby, and it’s called Antemasque,” a pretty accurate statement that’s sure to attract fans of those bands’ past work.
